The Annual Lacrosse Coach & Umpire Conference 2024
Wycombe Abbey School
10th & 11th October 2024
This is the sixth annual coach INSET training day we have run in conjunction with AMG Sports! Alongside the normal one day coach development day we are also running an umpire training session on the following morning.
For 2024 we will once again be at Wycombe Abbey School. Perfectly located less than a 5 minute drive from junction 4 of the M40 and a 10 minute walk from High Wycombe mainline rail station we are very lucky to be able to use Wycombe Abbey's outstanding facilities and with numerous hotels within walking distance it's easy for those attending the whole event.
We'd love to welcome you along to both days of the conference but you can choose to attend as much or as little as you wish. For more details about each part of the conference as well as how to book please see below. We hope to see you there!

Training Day
Thursday 10th October 10.00am - 3.30pm
For this year we've added more sessions! There will be a goalkeeping session for everyone and then a choice of Beginner or Intermediate/Advanced for the attack, defence and mid-field sessions. Finally you can choose to attend a S&C session or a Women in Sport session both aimed at helping you further develop your players. Bring a colleague and between you you can attend all the sessions to make sure you get the most from the day! Each 1 hour session will be lead by one of our expert specialist coaches.
Plus we are hoping to have some students available to run some practical version of the drills discussed to help deepen your understanding and so you can visualise how they work with real players taking part.
Refreshments and a buffet lunch is provided along with a copy of our Coach Handbook with an outline of the session you have attended along with space for your own scribbles!
Friday 11th October 9.00am - 12.15pm
This workshop is aimed at supporting the unsung heroes that are our umpires! Open to club volunteers, school team staff and parents doing their bit to support, with sessions lead by Paul Bibby. Looking at how to approach some of the more challenging situations as well as practical demos of application this session will boost confidence and help those who fulfil this vital role.
